Thanksgiving dinner, served up colonial style
PORT JERVIS, NYThe Minisink Valley Historical Society will present its final fall program, the cooking of a colonial Thanksgiving dinner, on Saturday, November 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Fort Decker Museum of History. The societys 1793 stone house museum is located at 127 West Main Street.
The all-day program will demonstrate colonial cooking techniques including the baking of bread, roasting of ducks and turkeys, baking of pumpkin pies, and making cranberry sauce and hot mulled cider the old-fashioned way. Society volunteers will demonstrate how a typical late 18th-century Thanksgiving dinner was cooked.

Grey Towers all spruced up for the Christmas season
MILFORD, PAGrey Towers National Historic Site will offer a variety of seasonal programs throughout December, including its Christmas Carol theatrical readings, holiday musical performances, a visit from Santa and the seasonably decorated mansion open for visitation. As always, the mansion will be specially decorated for the occasion by the Milford Garden Club.
Holiday tours of the 1886 mansion will begin Friday, December 12, with a public event that kicks off the season with caroling and hot chocolate from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Traditional luminaries will light the walkway to the mansion.
