JOSEPHINE F. BRENNAN
Josephine F. Brennan of Barryville, NY, a longtime resident of the area, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Twin Cedars Assisted Living Center in Shohola, PA. She was 94.
The daughter of Sidney and Josephine (ONeil) Bailey, she was born June 3, 1914 in New York City.
She was the widow of Paul J. Brennan. Josephine was the retired postmaster of Pond Eddy, NY and the town clerk of Lumberland, NY. She was a member of the Lumberland Community Club and St. Anthonys of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Yulan, NY.
A family statement reads: She was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her daughter, Rosemary Bailey and husband Robert of Yulan; her son, Paul I. Brennan and life and soul-mate Lauren of Barryville; a brother, Sidney Bailey and wife Shirley of Highland Lake, NY; grandchildren John Traver III, Thomas Traver, Elizabeth McKean and Patrick Traver and great grandchildren Maranda Shauger, Kelsey Traver, Shauna Traver, Matthew Fredericks, Samantha Fredericks and Jason Fredericks.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul; and one sister, Rosemary Donahue.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, November 22 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann R.C. Church, Shohola, PA. Father Thomas Major will officiate.
LEONA NATALIE BUDDENHAGEN
Leona Natalie Buddenhagen, a lifetime resident of the area, entered into rest on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the Sullivan Adult Care Center in Liberty, NY. She was 98.
Daughter of the late George and Margaret Link Reichmann, she was born August 7, 1910 in Fremont, NY. She was the widow of Anthony C. Buddenhagen, whom she married on October 8, 1933. Leona was a church organist at the Hortonville Presbyterian Church for over 40 years. She was an Elder of the Hortonville Presbyterian Church and was past president of the Presbyterian Womens Group.
Survivors include her son, David Buddenhagen and wife Shirley Buddenhagen; their daughter, Cathy Wilcox and husband Dr. Brian Wilcox and great-grandchildren Meisha and Robbie Wilcox; and their daughter, Cindy Menges and husband Keith Menges and great-granddaughter Kendall Menges; her daughter, Donna Buddenhagen Roeder and husband Harold Roeder Jr. and their son, Hal Roeder III and wife Mary Roeder, great-granddaughters Dana and Mackenzie Roeder and Megan Roeder Wessman and husband Chris Wessman, their daughter, Katrina Roeder Rubino and husband Todd Rubino, great-granddaughters Lauren and Kendra Rubino, and their son, Brian Roeder and his wife Sherryl Roeder, and great-grandsons, Todd and Travis Roeder, and great-granddaughter, Heather Roeder; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her great-grandson, Gabriel Rubino.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Callicoon, NY.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 21, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hortonville Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Nancy Asbury officiating. Burial will be in Hortonville Cemetery, Hortonville, NY.

DOROTHY DOTTIE LANG
Dorothy Dottie Lang of Port Jervis, NY, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at home. She was 76.
She was born December 3, 1931 in the Bronx, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Dorman Bruno.
Dorothy was married to the late Peter Lang, who died on May 8, 1997. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Harriman, NY and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #488, Monroe, NY.
She is survived by her daughters, Diana Cormier of Lake Huntington, NY and Donna Genty of Port Jervis, NY; sister Catherine Meyer and husband Walter of Bloomingburg, NY; grandson Todd Lang of New York City; good friend, care giver and sister-in-law Mary Bruno of Huguenot, NY; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four brothers, Anthony, Joseph, Warren and John Bruno.
Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis on Thursday, November 20, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 20, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery, Bloomingburg, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
THOMAS F. LUNDBERG
Thomas F. Lundberg of Greeley, PA, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. He was 44.
The son of Robert T. Lundberg and Gloria V. Faas, he was born February 1, 1964 in Queens, NY.
He was married to Michele Yurchuk Lundberg and was owner and operator of Toms Auto Repair, Greeley.
Survivors include his wife; three children, Jaylee, Laynee and Nylee, all at home; his mother and stepfather, Gloria and George Grey of Greeley; three sisters, Susan Lundberg Piranio and husband Frank of Lords Valley, PA, Karen McCullough and husband Denny of Pond Eddy, NY and Lillian Harris of Stroudsburg, PA; a niece and nephews Mariellen, Denny, Levi, Piper and Michael.
Funeral services were held at the Stroyan Funeral Home, Milford, PA with the Rev. Donald Beck officiating.
MILTON A. MAGID
Milton A. Magid of White Lake, NY and Weston, FL passed away peacefully at home on November 11, 2008, Veterans Day. He was 84.
Son of the late Sidney and Fannie Magid, he was born April 10, 1924 in the Bronx, NY.
Milton married Marilyn Levy on June 17, 1951. They raised a family in Brooklyn and spent many wonderful summers in White Lake. Together with Lou and Lee Levy, they operated The White Lake Mansion House and later Lake Shore Cottages. Milton served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He often wore his WWII veterans hat with high regard and esteem for the role he played as liberator at Dachau concentration camp. He also worked as a milkman in Brooklyn and a top salesman for British Petroleum and Castrol Oil companies. Milton was a gifted artist and in his retirement continued painting and spending time at the lake and with his beloved family. A family statement reads: It was our honor and a privilege to be part of your family. We could not have asked for a more loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. You were a pillar of strength and wisdom and you will be deeply and sorely missed. We know Meryl welcomed you with open arms.
Milton is survived by his wife Marilyn of Weston; his son David and wife Kathy; granddaughter Kara and grandson Jesse, all of Rock Tavern, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter Meryl; and brothers, Daniel and Allan.
MARIA A. (MILLER) SCHREIBER
Maria A. Schreiber of Beach Lake, NY died on November 14, 2008 at Brighten at Julia Ribaudo, Lake Ariel, PA. She was 69.
She was born in Dahn, Germany to Max and Anna Miller, both deceased.
She was married to Frank Henry Schreiber for 44 years.
She was a secretary for Herzog Trucking and former secretary for the Lake Wallenpaupack German-American Club. She was Roman Catholic.
She is survived by her husband; her son John and wife Krystal Schreiber of Hawley, PA; grandson Erik Schreiber; and sisters Rita Keller of Germany and Erika Ziegler of Wyoming.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family and interment will be at Green Gates Cemetery, Hawley.

WANDA A. SMITH
Wanda A. Smith of Whitney Point, NY passed away on Sunday. November 16, 2008. She was 91.
Wanda worked for many years at Sherwoods Poultry Farm in Galilee, PA. After moving to Triangle, NY in 1969, she worked as a nurses aide at Cincinnatus Nursing Home and at Page Seed Co. in Greene, NY. She was a true and faithful friend to many and cared deeply about those around her, and her greatest passion was creating special quilts that she gave as gifts to loved ones.
She is survived by daughters Michele (Welk) Douglas Greene, Whitney Point, Opal (Welk) Lyie Hocker, Beach Lake, PA, Elaine (Welk) Phillip Schuster, Conklin, NY and Ariene (Welk) Joseph Bigan, Binghamton, NY; son Edward Welk, Bakersfield, CA; step-son in-law Phillip Fenton, Greene; and step-son, Ralph (Hope) Smith, Floral City, FL; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister Erma Marks; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by Edward Welk; Charles Smith; grandson John Bigart; great-grandson Zacary Schuster; sisters Glera Smith, Beryl Keesler; brothers Arlan, Kenneth, Elvin and Leary Monington; parents Delia (Rice) and Roydon Monington; and stepdaughter Arietta Smith Fenton.
Funeral services were on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Nichols Funeral Home, Whitney Point. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Galilee, at the convenience of the family.
